Slide 2 In order to
"build" our UTM grid location, we first
find the grid line just west of our spot. That
would be grid line 58 in this example. Grid line 58 is a kilometer marker. We want to be a little more accurate than that. Let's estimate how many tenths of a grid we are EAST of grid marker 58. It looks like we're about 6/10 of a grid east of grid marker 58. We could say that our spot is at EAST grid line 58 6/10. We'll use a "shorthand" designation and say "586." |
