Slide 3 We specified how
far East our spot is, now we have to specify how
far North it is. To do this we look at the grid
line just South of our spot on the map. That
would be Grid Line 53. Wait a minute! Why does grid line 53 really read 5,653000m N.? OK, it does, just hold on to that until we get to the GPS part of this lesson. Right now think of it as grid line 53. It looks like our spot is about 4 tenths of a grid North of grid line 53. We could say 53 4/10 or "534." |
